El pasado (no) es prólogo

The artist’s book «what’s past is (not) prologue» by Shirin Salehi (Tehran, 1982). In this work, she stems from deep research into various speech disorders to the manifestation of Language as a broken body in the face of the grief caused by the recent political events in her homeland during the protest movement that erupted in the fall of 2022. Drawing from her intimate experience and her closest inner circles, Salehi weaves together texts and voices, deploying intentional gaps, to propose, from the materiality of fracture, an attempt to narrate this collective mourning.
