Valentina Alvarado Matos works from an expanded notion of collage, combining analogue film, paper, and ceramics to explore the constant transformation of images and landscape. Her practice unfolds as a process of displacements, repetitions, and reappropriations in which memory, materiality, and migrant experience intertwine. Rather than fixing or classifying the world, her works embrace the transient, allowing chance and the specific temporalities of each material to participate in the making. Hands, gestures, and collaboration with others appear as ways of inhabiting the image from within. The result is a sensitive territory in continuous movement, where images emerge as open encounters rather than final conclusions.
