GalerÃa FUGA presents IN-BETWEEN #2: y si adentro by Krystel Liliana. The exhibition focuses on the reconstruction of images lodged in memory. Beginning with the attempt to recall the shape of a childhood swimming pool –reconstructed with the help of her family– the artist develops a series of works in which wax becomes the primary material: at times acting as a veil that blurs photographic images, and at others as a structure that gives form to rescaled domestic objects, such as a swimming pool or a swimsuit containing an invisible body. Water runs through the exhibition as a connecting element, while different objects introduce layers of meaning that refer to the archive and the act of remembering. The exhibition proposes an archaeology of memory in which images, spaces, and objects appear marked by distortion and by the difficulty of accessing recollection with clarity.
