Ali Arévalo (Salamanca, 1998)
Ali Arévalo is an artist, researcher and educator. They hold a BA in Fine Arts from UCM and ABK Stuttgart, and an MA in Contemporary Art History from MNCARS/UCM/UAM. They are currently developing a doctoral thesis at the Universitat de Barcelona and are part of the research group Tiempha, focused on the analysis of the idea of time in relation to a wounded world.
Arévalo’s work has been presented in solo exhibitions at DA2 Domus Artium 2002, Salamanca, and Can Felipa Arts Visuals, Barcelona. They have also exhibited internationally in group exhibitions at art centres such as Fabra i Coats: Centre d’Art Contemporani, Barcelona; Jedna Dva Tri Gallery, Prague; La Panera, Lleida; Sala d’Art Jove, Barcelona; Intermediae Matadero, Madrid; The Clemente, New York; and Kunstverein Hechingen, Stuttgart.
Their work is part of the Sant Andreu Contemporani collection. They have received the Miquel Casablancas Prize, 2025; the Art Jove Creació Award, 2024; the Material Research Grant from Barcelona Crea and Hangar, 2025; and the 2025 Contemporary Creation Grant from Salamanca City Council.
They have undertaken residencies at Hangar, 2024–2026; Petrohradská Kolektiv, Prague; L’Estruch Fàbrica de Creació, Sabadell; and Centro Negra AADK, Blanca, Murcia.
