Ali Arévalo, (Salamanca, 1998)

Their practice speculates on non-binary, queer and interspecies futures through sculptural, performative, audiovisual and textual fictions. Through a strategic use of anachronism, it queers history and reimagines dissident mythologies that bend linear temporality. In doing so, Arévalo constructs universes and fantasy worlds where historical figures such as warrior maidens and Magical Girl manga characters open pathways towards new embodiments and narratives of resistance.
