Marla Jacarilla (Alcoy, 1980)
Visual artist, writer, and cinema critic. She develops her artistic practice through techniques such as writing, performance, video, and installation. She continually searches for links between plastic arts, new technologies and literature in order to develop a fragmented and splashed of fiction narrative that the spectator is invited to recompose.
She has participated in collective exhibitions in MACBA, Centro de Arte Santa Mònica, Fundació Antoni Tàpies, La Panera, Centro de Arte Contemporáneo Fabra y Coats, Centro de Cultura Contemporánea Conde Duque (Madrid) or Württembergische Kunstverein (Stuttgart), among others.
She has carried out individual exhibitions in places such as Twin Gallery (Madrid), Museu de Reus, Centro de arte de Alcobendas, Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporània (Valencia), Projekteria [Art Gallery] (Barcelona), Sala Gotika (Lleida, Catalonia) or La Capella (Barcelona), among others.
Winner of awards such as Barcelona Crea, Ayudas VEGAP to visual creation, the Fundación BBVA videoart award, the Fundación Guasch Coranty award or the Bòlit Mentor Award, among others. Award for best artist in the project ART NOU 2012.
